Open House 2009
How is lunch meat or cheese packaged in portions accurate down to the last gram? What is the story behind the high-tech robots? On 25 April 2009, Weber Maschinenbau gave insights into the fascinating world of industrial lunch meat and cheese processing. Interested visitors were invited to see the high-tech Weber world for themselves and in person from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. As the first port of call for the food processing industry, Weber slicing machines slice lunch meat, ham and cheese and place them in packaging. High-performance systems and full lines for the meat processing industry are the basis for the Weber brand's international renown. Whether Australia, Asia or America: Weber cutting systems, derinders and flake ice makers are known around the world. On the Open House Day, visitors enjoyed an interesting and diverse programme full of information and entertainment. Numerous high-tech machines and robots were presented, as well as how they were created, from planning and development, right up to manufacturing and assembly. Every hour on the hour, cutting and packaging machines were demonstrated in action in the in-house demonstration room. That allowed visitors to experience the precision and perfection of the systems for themselves. For the first time at Weber, 24 trainees presented a high-tech model of an interleaver during the event, which they built themselves for training purposes. A colourful line-up of entertainment with many attractions for young and old ensured that the atmosphere was good. The event was accompanied musically by the popular band Weifenbacher Musikanten. Other highlights and attractions provided entertainment and lots of fun on the day. Visitors could also test their skill and strength at the archery stand. There was plenty of entertainment for the youngest visitors with face painting, many guessing games and a bouncy castle. Barbecue sausages and cake were the icing on the cake and left nothing to be desired. Weber donated the proceeds from sales at the Open House Day to the local day care centre Abenteuerland.
