Weber Food Technology Receives Siemens Techcellence Award
During “Realize LIVE Europe 2026” in Amsterdam at the end of June, Siemens Digital Industries Software announced the winners of the European Techcellence Awards 2026 – with Weber Food Technology among them as the winner in the “Innovation Leader” category. Weber received the award for the new performance version of the wePICK Pick Robot. The robot safely, precisely and efficiently places products such as sliced portions or piece goods into packaging, representing a solution that combines digital development methods with tangible benefits for food processing.
With the Techcellence Awards, Siemens recognizes customers who use Siemens technologies and solutions in particularly creative and forward-looking ways to solve challenges, improve processes or open up new opportunities within their companies and industries. “Across Europe, industrial companies are rethinking how they innovate, collaborate and scale in a more sustainable and resilient way,” said Edwin Severijn, Senior Vice President and General Manager for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) at Siemens Digital Industries Software. “The Techcellence Awards recognize organizations and individuals that are turning ambition and vision into measurable progress – using digital technologies not only to respond to market change, but to lead it.” The award therefore highlights developments that set new standards and create concrete value for industrial applications. This is precisely the ambition Weber is pursuing with the performance version of the wePICK. As the fastest delta robot in its market segment, the pick robot combines high speed with precision and reliability, helping food processing companies make their production lines more powerful and efficient at the same time. The new wePICK was developed using model-based and simulation-driven methods, with the involvement of various partners from academic research and industrial application. This innovative and integrative approach led to a series-ready innovation that made its debut at IFFA 2025 with a successful record attempt in terms of performance and has now also been recognized with the Techcellence Award.
The Siemens Techcellence Awards were presented for the third time in 2026. They honor companies and individuals who are driving change in their industries through transformation, sustainability and digital technologies, while sharing their knowledge within the Siemens community.
